CHBCF 2020 Fundraiser
2020 has brought new and unexpected challenges for everyone in the country. The Coronavirus has forced individuals and businesses alike to adjust, adapt and find ways to survive. Charitable organizations, such as the CHBCF, are no different. For the last 16 years our primary fundraiser, “Tee it up! for a Cure”, has included a golf tournament, reception and silent/live auctions. Each year, our fundraiser is held in late September drawing over 150 participants. All who have participated in the past, know that social distancing is not possible. For the over 200 vendors and businesses who donate auction items and support our fundraiser, we know that this year has been particularly difficult….on so many levels. As it has become evident that the virus will be with us for the foreseeable future, we have made the regrettable decision to cancel this year’s Tee it up! for a Cure. The health of our volunteers, supporters and participants is our priority. So, for 2020, we are holding a non-event fundraiser. There won’t be any physical participation, and we won’t have our volunteers soliciting auction donations but, if you’re able, a monetary donation to the CHBCF would allow us to continue supporting breast cancer research at our local universities. Breast cancer doesn’t go into hiding because we are dealing with a serious pandemic. Each year over 275,000 women and men will be diagnosed and over 40,000 will die from this devastating disease. Due to the cancelation of our annual fundraiser, your support of our non-event is more important than ever. Hope to see everyone in 2021.
