THE CHAPEL HILL BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION IS CELEBRATING 28 YEARS OF SUPPORT FOR BREAST CANCER RESEARCH IN NORTH CAROLINA.

Your donations in 2025 are more important than ever

Since its inception in 1997, The Chapel Hill Breast Cancer Foundation has donated more than $1 million in support of breast cancer research at Duke, UNC and Wake Forest Universities.

Despite tremendous success in both detection and treatment, breast cancer still claims the lives of more than 100 women every day in the US alone. Recent reductions in federal funding are already impacting breast cancer research, staffing & clinical trials. Improvements in detection, treatment and outcomes start with research.

The CHBCF differs from other charities in that 100% of every dollar you give to The Chapel Hill Breast Cancer Foundation goes specifically to breast cancer research programs at UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, Duke Cancer Institute & Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist—advancing detection, treatments, and outcomes.

The Chapel Hill Breast Cancer Foundation (CHBCF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the singular mission of supporting discovery-phase breast cancer research projects at our local universities.

Your past donations are making a difference today. Today's donations will make a difference tomorrow.

"After decades of progress in preventing deaths from breast cancer, we still have a long way to go.  Over 40,000 will die of breast cancer in the U.S. this year.  Millions are survivors, and we want them to be well and with the highest possible quality of life, without complications of their breast cancer care.

With challenges to federal funding for breast cancer research, we are even more in need of private donations to help keep our momentum towards a world without breast cancer deaths, and without unnecessary toxicity of treatment."

—Lisa A. Carey, MD, ScM, FASCODeputy Director of Clinical Sciences, Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center
